EEX Customer Information – EEX to launch TTF Natural Gas Month ($/MMBtu) Futures

    Dear Trading Participants,

    The European Energy Exchange (EEX) will expand its product offering on the EEX Gas derivatives markets with the introduction of financially settled EEX TTF Natural Gas Month ($/MMBtu) Futures from Monday, 15ᵗʰ April 2024.

    This new product will complement EEX’s existing JKM LNG Natural Gas Futures and provide customers with an expanded LNG related offering.

    Product setup

    The new products will be available at EEX for order book trading and trade registration as shown in the table.

    Further details on the new products can be found on the EEX website in the EEX Contract Specification and in the EEX product code list.

    Trading hours and settlement window

    The new products will be available for trading on all EEX Gas Future Exchange Days from 08:00 to 18:00 CE(S)T.

    The determination of the daily settlement prices (settlement window) for the new EEX TTF Natural Gas Month ($/MMBtu) Futures will take place between 5:00 pm – 5:15 pm CE(S)T.

    Transaction fees

    The following standard transaction fees apply according to the EEX AG price list and ECC price list.

    Admission/Product Assignment

    Trading participants who are already admitted for the existing EEX JKM Liquefied Natural Gas Futures (USD) will be able to trade EEX TTF Natural Gas Month ($/MMBtu) Futures as soon as the access has been granted in the EEX trading system and will receive a respective updated notification letter once the product assignment has been completed.

    Trading participants who are currently not admitted for EEX JKM Liquefied Natural Gas Futures (USD), will need to contact the EEX Customer Care team (membership@eex.com or +33 1 70 36 33 42).

    Clients not yet active on EEX are invited to start the admissions process to become an Exchange Member or to explore options of indirect market access via one of the several market access providers to EEX Markets.     Technical access

    The new products will be automatically integrated into the EEX TT Screen as usual. Customers trading through the solutions provided by Trayport® Joule® SaaS must ensure the products are included in their workbooks. The new products will be available within the corresponding Trayport instrument. Exxeta Energy Trader® (EET) users can independently configure the new futures in their user interface. The registration of trades via Clearing Registration Service (eXRP) or Touchpoint can be used without additional adjustments.
