EEX Customer Information - Change of technical price limits for European Power Futures

    Dear trading participants,

the European Energy Exchange (EEX) will increase the maximum price limit for order entry, trade matching and trade registration of European Power Day Futures, Power Weekend Futures and Power Week Futures from currently +3,000 EUR/MWh to +4,000 EUR/MWh. For EEX GB Power Futures, the maximum price will be increased to 4,000 GBP/MWh. The changes become effective as of 8 August 2022.

The adjustment of the maximum price limit for these contracts follows the increase of the harmonised maximum clearing price for Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) from +3,000 EUR/MWh to +4,000 EUR/MWh, which came into effect on 11 May 2022 as well as the high prices of 2,712.99 and 2,987.78 EUR/MWh reached on 3 April 2022 (delivery date 4 April) in France, in hours 8 and 9, respectively.

The maximum price limit for the other Power Products (i.e. Month, Quarter, Year Futures and Options) will remain at +3,000 EUR/MWh (+3,000 GBP/MWh respectively) until further notice.

    Yours sincerely,
    EEX Market Operations
