Dear Trading Participant,
We would like to remind you of the new Austrian natural gas balancing system (NBS) that will come into force on 1 October 2022 and the corresponding changes that will take place from 02:00 CEST:
- Hourly Auction and auto-matching will be deactivated. EEX CEGH VTP Within-Day will switch to full continuous trading.
- Additional locational spreads with TTF and THE market areas will be offered for within-day contracts.
The adjusted EEX Rules and Regulations will be published in due time. No impact on clearing and settlement is foreseen.
Technical changes
Like all other EEX Natural Gas Spot markets, the EEX CEGH VTP Within-Day will be traded continuously from 02:00 CEST when trading for Delivery Day 1 October begins.
Order Entry in Joule Direct
The current venue name EEXWD in Joule will be decommissioned for EEX CEGH VTP Within-Day and will be replaced by EEX as already used for all other EEX Gas Spot products.

Users may need to restart their Joule screens and reconnect their API applications to see the changes.
The change will be visible in the Venue column in the Joule Marketsheet and when selecting a clearing venue on the order entry dialogue window, as shown below.

Order Entry in GlobalVision
A new workbook will be made available on Thursday, September 29 where the current and future EEX CEGH VTP Within-Day will co-exist. A separate GV worksheet will be created and shall be used from October 1, 02:00 CEST to trade the new EEX CEGH VTP Within-Day:

Passive membership on EEX CEGH VTP
As a consequence of NBS, the special membership, EEX Gas Market CEGH VTP Passive, will not be mandatory for balance group responsible parties as of 1 October 2022. For this reason, EEX will no longer offer this membership. Affected members have received a letter by email in the beginning of August 2022 listing possible options. If you have an EEX Gas Market CEGH VTP Passive membership and have any questions regarding your membership status, please reach out to your key account manager.
