Dear Trading Participant,
Following the regulatory approval of the Belgian gas regulator, CREG, to merge ZEE and ZTP gas market areas from 1 October 2023, EEX will deactivate all ZEE contracts with gas delivery on or after 1 October 2023 on the Exchange.
This decision follows EEX suspension of its ZEE Futures contracts (regulated and OTF markets) with gas delivery on or after 1 October 2023, which was announced and took effect on 25 April 2023.
EEX ZEE Spot contracts' deactivation
The deactivation is planned according to the following timeline:

All associated ZEE/NBP spread products will also be deactivated according to the above timeline.
Until then, ZEE contracts with delivery until 30 September 2023 are still tradable on the Exchange. Furthermore, the merger foresees no change on ZTP, meaning all EEX ZTP contracts remain identical in all aspects.
Indices publication
EEX Monthly Index as well as EEX Daily and Monthly European Gas Indices (EGIX) for ZEE will be calculated and published as long as the underlying contracts are available for trading.
Admission
Following the merger of ZEE and ZTP, EEX will, for good order, revoke the admission of the trading participants for any ZEE market segment, with effect on 1 October 2023.
Trading participants admitted on ZEE and not ZTP (or not on all market segments) can liaise with EEX Customer Care team (membership@eex.com) and request the admission on the required ZTP market segment(s).
