EEX Kundeninformation - EEX changes settlement price determination for Phelix-AT and Phelix-DE/AT Futures and delists short-term Phelix-DE/AT Futures

Dear trading participants,

As of 1 st October 2018, EEX will change the settlement price determination in Phelix-AT and Phelix-DE/AT futures. Furthermore, EEX will delist Phelix-DE/AT Day, Weekend and Week futures on 24th September 2018. These changes are in line with the split of the common bidding zone Germany/Austria into two national bidding zones. Products for the respective market areas have been available for trading on EEX since April 2017 with the Phelix-DE futures and Phelix-AT futures. Since then, liquidity has almost completely shifted to the new contracts.

1. Changes in the settlement price determination for Phelix-AT- and Phelix-DE/AT Futures

EEX will change the daily settlement price determination for Phelix-AT futures, taking into account the increasing liquidity on the Austrian market. From 1 st October 2018 onwards, the daily settlement prices for Phelix-AT futures will be determined based on the current market spreads for the corresponding Phelix-DE futures. With this change, EEX is further developing its processes in line with the current market situation and the increased importance of the Phelix-AT Futures. Furthermore, the settlement prices for Phelix-DE/AT futures will be determined using the settlement prices for Phelix-DE futures and Phelix-AT futures in a ratio of 9:1. The calculation methodology of the daily settlement prices for Phelix-DE futures remains unchanged.

2. Delisting of Phelix-DE/AT Day, Weekend and Week Futures

Due to the almost complete shift of liquidity towards Phelix-DE futures, EEX has decided to discontinue exchange trading in the short-term Phelix-DE/AT futures with effect from 24 th September 2018.
