The EEX Market Operations teams operate the exchange platform on which trading participants can buy and sell energy and commodity products in accordance with the following guiding principles.
Secure & fair trading conditions
Trading takes place fully electronically. On the exchange trading is anonymous which ensures that all trading participants are treated equally. Market Operations also supports participants by entering orders into the trading system in their name (« trading-on-behalf »).
Individual customer support
Market Operations is the first point of contact for customers, market makers or brokers in all questions relating to day-to-day business, EEX products and trading systems. This comprises, for example, support in case of technical problems, trading-on-behalf as well as test support.
Product innovation
The Market Operations Departments actively contribute to new product setups, new applications for the systems and other projects.
Transparent reference prices
The teams calculate more than 40,000 reliable and transparent settlement prices for all products at the end of each trading day. These prices serve as recognised reference prices for the market.

EEX Market Operations operates through dedicated teams in Leipzig, Paris and Singapore.
Market Operations Leipzig
Based at EEX headquarters in Leipzig, the Market Operations team provides the platform and operational support that enables trading on the exchange. As the first point of contact for trading participants, the team supports customers with questions regarding tradable products, trading systems, exchange regulations and other operational matters. By supporting markets for power, emission allowances and freight products, the team helps ensure transparent, secure and efficient exchange trading while continuously developing products and services together with customers and partners.
Market Operations Paris
The Gas Market Operations team in Paris oversees the daily operations of EEX's natural gas markets and serves as a direct point of contact for participants on technical and product-related matters. The team monitors and operates the gas markets, handles trade cancellations and incident resolution, calculates and publishes settlement prices and indices, and coordinates clearing and settlement processes with ECC. In addition, the team supports new product launches, system upgrades and the setup of trading accounts and permissions for gas spot traders.
Market Operations Singapore
The Market Operations team in Singapore manages the end-to-end operations of Touchpoint, EEX Group's trade registration platform. Supporting EEX markets across global time zones with a special focus on APAC-based customers, the team ensures seamless trade execution from 1 AM CET to 6 PM CET. Its responsibilities include client onboarding, platform configuration, trade monitoring, risk management and reporting. The team helps ensure that block, co-broke and direct trades are processed smoothly into the clearing house while providing reporting insights to global stakeholders.
