EEX Group and Veson Nautical (Veson), a global market leader of maritime data and freight management solutions, today announced an integration between their platforms, with focus on Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs). The collaboration is expected to improve efficiency and enable better capture of mark-to-market values of risk positions for the freight trading communities.
Thanks to the integration, existing and future clients will have the ability to access EEX trade data and price information through IMOS, enabling faster and easier estimation of carbon emissions and carbon costs in the voyage estimator. The flow of EEX data into IMOS also eliminates manual data entry, minimising risk of inaccuracies or duplicate entries.
“We are delighted to enter this partnership, addressing long-standing calls from the trading community. The integration between the platforms will enable improved decision making and result in significant time savings for customers,” comments Steffen Koehler, CCO at the European Energy Exchange.
"The addition of EEX to our Platform Partner Network advances our mission to streamline the critical workflows that underpin maritime commerce,” says Matt Filosa, VP of Strategy and Operations at Veson Nautical. “Automated access to EEX pricing and cleared trades not only minimizes operational risk but also strengthens the integrity of the decisions our clients make each day. We’re excited to bring this integration to market and to deepen our relationship with EEX in service of our mutual clients."
In the frame of the collaboration, the integration of platforms will also create the capabilities for Veson to access European Union Allowance (EUA) Futures trading data for trades that have been concluded through EEX's Touchpoint platform.
Touchpoint is a web-based trade registration platform, aimed at facilitating registration of OTC trades for all EEX markets, including power, natural gas, emissions, dry freight and agricultural asset classes. Touchpoint has been specifically designed to cater to a broad range of users and includes a host of applications and functions which enable greater trading efficiencies for the broking, clearing and trading communities.
IMOS, part of the comprehensive Veson Platform, enables users to manage the evolving complexity of commercial freight contracts—from pre-fixture chartering and nominations, to voyage operations and cargo visibility, to post-voyage financials and analysis. IMOS puts an end to disparate workflows, unifies systems and stakeholders, and places data precisely in the right context to make a difference in your daily decisions.
