G-REX Platform
Built for compliance. Designed for performance. Trusted by registries across Europe.
Compatibility
Standard compliance off the shelf
G-REX is and will remain fully compliant with European level regulation, standards, and industry agreements. These include:
- Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (RED II),
- Standard CEN-EN 16325
- European Energy Certificate System (EECS).
All Guarantee of Origin schemes in Europe must comply with RED II and CEN-EN 16325. G-REX is designed to meet these requirements out of the box and evolve alongside future regulatory updates.
EECS, ERGaR and CertifHy
In addition to regulatory compliance, G-REX supports key voluntary industry agreements, including:
- AIB – developed EECS, the leading framework for energy certificates
- ERGaR – European registry for renewable gas certificates
- CertifHy – for hydrogen certification
G-REX supports all major energy carriers: electricity, gas, hydrogen, and heating and cooling.
Technology
API First
All G-REX functionality is available through open, well-documented APIs. The business logic is separated from the user interface, offering full flexibility to integrate with external systems or build custom frontends. Every user has API access by default.
Serverless cloud native
G-REX is fully cloud-native and runs serverless on Microsoft Azure. Infrastructure and configurations are deployed automatically using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). This enables fast deployments, near-unlimited scalability, and low maintenance overhead.
Single-page application
The G-REX application is built as a single-page application (SPA), providing a fast and responsive user experience. User preferences such as visible columns and sorting are saved locally for a seamless experience across sessions. The application is compatible with all modern browsers and built using Angular and Kendo UI.
Resilience
G-REX services can be hosted across multiple data centers, with geo-redundancy and automated backups. When hosted in the EU, all data remains within EU borders, and access is restricted accordingly. High availability is maintained even in rare failure scenarios.
