Following the launch of EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures on 14 October 2025, we are pleased to inform you that the respective market data for the new futures is now available in the EEX Group DataSource Products.
Which products are available?
Data for EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures is now added to our existing products for Japan, which are available on the EEX Group Webshop:
- EEX Asian Power Futures (API, RT)
- EEX Asian Power Futures (ExcelTool, RT)
- EEX Japanese Power Futures (sFTP, EoD)

Should you use our EEX Japanese Power Futures (sFTP, EoD) product, please refer to our detailed overview from the preparatory information on the file set-up for EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures on EEX Group DataSource sFTP server.
- For sFTP, please note that market data for EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures is only provided in XLSX-format.
- Moreover, EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures are provided as additional files, which are not integrated into the existing files for our EEX Japanese derivatives.
Delisting of EEX Japanese Power Year Futures:
In conjunction with the launch of EEX Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures, EEX will proceed with the delisting of the existing Japanese Power Year Futures (FOBY, FOPY, FQBY, and FQPY). The delisting will take effect on Monday, 20 October 2025.
EEX addresses the need of trading community in Japan to hedge their risks in line with the local financial year
To better support the trading community in Japan, the new Japanese Power Fiscal Year Futures will allow trading participants to align their trading approach with the Japanese financial year, which runs from 1 April to 31 March of the following year.
EEX’s portfolio for the Japanese power derivatives market comprises a wide range of maturities from short term futures to yearly futures, as well as monthly options for the Tokyo and Kansai areas. Central order book trading started in April 2025, bringing further boost to the increasing trading volumes on this EEX market.
