1. What is referred to as Other energy carriers?

All those types of power plants which cannot be classified under any of the energy carriers specified individually are summarized under Other energy carriers. The energy carriers “wind energy“ and “storage power“ are not published, however.

2. Why was no data published, e.g. for lignite, on x.x.200x?

Unfortunately, a situation can arise at any time, in which individual power plant operators cannot deliver for technological reasons. In case the number of the reporting power plant operators falls to less than 3, unfortunately, the power plant data must not be published any longer. In this case, EEX will try to obtain the missing data from the power plant operators. In case the data is furnished subsequently within the course of the following day, the corrected values will also be published on the web site.

3. When is the data published?

Normally, the data regarding the installed and the available capacity is published at 10:00 am on every exchange trading day of EEX. The data regarding the produced capacity of the preceding day is published at 04:30 pm.

4. Why are not all the power plants listed?

Power plants with a capacity of less than 20 MW do not have to be published. Any publication of this data is effected on a voluntary basis. The reporting power plant operators are obliged to publish the data for all power plants which are wholly owned by them and which have not been sold to a single customer to their full capacity.

5. But power plant X is owned by Y – X is included in the list; however, Z, which is also owned by Y, is not shown in the list.

6. Is the data also available historically?

The data is also offered historically via the FTP server of EEX. It is contained in the information products 'Info-User' and 'Info-Vendor'. To apply an information product please click here.
