| Description: | Exchange Traders must be professionally qualified to trade on EPEX Spot. Training sessions and exams concerning specifically EPEX Spot markets are organised in cooperation with EEX training department in different locations in Europe. Please note that the training sessions and the exam for EPEX SPOT Power Market are exclusively open to EPEX SPOT Members. Exceptions to this principle (such as but not limited to EPEX SPOT’s Members’ subsidiaries or companies in EPEX SPOT’s admission process) require the prior written approval of EPEX SPOT. Such request for approval has to be submitted per mail to EPEX SPOT at the following address: epexspot-training-request. |

Fundamentals:
- Structure of relationships
- Elements and their task (especially exchange council and Market Surveillance)
- Admission process and contractual relationship
- Rule book and Code of Conduct
Power auction:
- Contract specification (like times, market areas, price ranges, decimal places, grids)
- Single hours bids as a limited and unlimited order
- Single hours bids with positive and negative prices
- Block bids and the paradoxically rejection process
- Market clearing price calculation, curves and their behaviour if further offers will be placed in the auction
- Power Index calculation
- Price determination in special cases (pro rata / 2nd auction)
- Definition of Market Coupling, times and emergency processes
- Objection rules and times
Continuous intraday trading:
- Contract specification (like times, market areas, price ranges, decimal places, intraday cross border, grids)
- Kind of order types
- Order and validity restrictions
- Matching algorithm
- Objection rules (recall)
- Definition and usage of OTC Clearing
- Trading limits
Risk Management:
- The risk model of ECC
Clearing:
- Definition and task of the Clearing house (central counterparty)
- Clearing Relationship structure
- Delivery process (especially in a default situation of a participant)
There are 60 % from the number of score needed to pass the exam successfully. Due to the number of questions and the different topics to educate we would like to advise every participant to have a look in advance at the slides and examples in the download area of our homepage. In the training the topics will naturally be explained and so the knowledge will be given and deepen. But there are a lot of different points and for someone who is not prepared it can become complicated to take up all and to pass the examinations with all the questions easily.

The accounting of the training fee per person is made by the EPEX Spot SE. In-house training fees are accounted by the EEX AG, since these training courses are held by coaches of the EEX AG on behalf the EPEX Spot SE.
Registration

Up to 14 days prior to the training session, cancellation is free of charge. Otherwise we charge a cancellation fee of 50 € per day. Should the registered person not be able to attend, we accept a replacement at no additional cost.
