In order to trade EEX products, it is necessary to connect to the EEX trading systems. The EEX spot market products trade on the Xetra^® system. The EEX derivatives market products trade on the Eurex^® system.

The EEX offers a number of different connection and front-end solutions to connect to Xetra^® and/or Eurex^®, ranging from simple, secure web-based solutions to a double leased-line access. A number of front-end (the screen used by the traders) options are also available, including GlobalVision^® as well as other Independent System Vendors (ISV) that support the Xetra^® and Eurex^® systems.

The best choice of connection depends on a number of factors, as each trading company has different trading needs and requirements. For example, how many traders do you wish to connect, do you wish to trade over a favourite front-end, do you require a secure leased-line connection, do you possess and wish to trade via your own server infrastructure, do you already have Xetra^® and Eurex^® access in your house etc?
